The local branch of the Red Cross
can loan a range of aids from stock and can get others, given notice.
I will collect these before you
arrive and return them afterwards. Electric hoists can be hired from
Huntleigh Healthcare (08457 342000) and electric wheelchairs and buggies
from Somerset County Enterprises (01278 445446). Both will deliver and collect.
Please contact them direct to ensure that you get exactly what you need.
If you need nursing or care assistance we suggest you contact Bruton Surgery
(01749 812310) who are very helpful and can usually recommend local
individuals or agencies.
The surrounding farmland is not
wheelchair accessible but the area around the house and the
farm lane are. Accessible supermarkets are in Bruton (½m), Wincanton
(4m) and Frome (8m) and there are several wheelchair-friendly pubs locally
serving excellent food.
I am happy to offer assistance
whenever possible but am often not around so visitors must be
self-sufficient and a vehicle is pretty essential. Visitors with
incontinence problems are asked to mention this when booking please.
Finally, do ask if there is anything else you need. I may not be able
to help but, if I can, I will.
